Roots of Orchis and The Cyclocross Meeting

IMG_1891
This past Sunday Roots of Orchis reunited to play a show before my San Francisco screening of The Cyclocross Meeting. While they played I projected some uncut Super 8 reels I shot in Providence, RI, and Belgium, back in 05'/06'. Roots...did a large portion of the soundtrack, and even though they aren't playing together regularly, they released a final album and it can be downloaded HERE. This was all part of the Bicycle Film Festival, which is jamming through it's 10th successful year.

Nikon State Of Mind

My buddy Josh won the audience award in this Nikon film contest. The whole idea kinda reminds me of Rob's My Weeks.
Nice work, JF. Real skaters make real stuff.

Promo Film For The 1985 Honda VFR750R

"That jewel-like engine was a marvel though; different countries were given different states of tune, but peak power was up to 112 or 118 bhp depending on whom you ask. All RC30s were hand-built in the Honda Racing Corporation facility rather than on the regular production lines, and Honda created a promotional film to showcase its meticulous engineering."

Lincoln Continental Road Journal

"We are in The Coffee House in Lincoln, Nebraska, in our kit. It’s 6:30 am and still dark outside.
"It’s also just begun to rain — harder.
"

Read the rest of Daniel Wakefield Pasley's road journal from Rapha's Lincoln-to-Ponca ride — complete with a short film and photos of our wet-then-dry-then-very-long day — at the Rapha web site.

Delicatessen

Y'all seen this? I haven't ... YET. Just finished The City of Lost Children and i kinda need more.
Why am I posting this? Not sure, I just need to talk about it somehow. My eyes and brain are still kinda overloaded with the beauty. Stunning stuff.

The Potter's Meal

A clip from one of my first films.
I fell in love with this guy's ideas about art, food, gardening, family, sex, god, money, and how it's all connected.
I also really love the idea that eating is household performance art that happens everyday in the kitchen.
A good problem to Joe: eating out of styrofoam.
I remember him saying "Eating: something so sacred you just don't do it in styrofoam."
