Birds With Stone

Did you know there's something out there that makes you want to ride your bike and make cool films.

Well, now you do.

Weren't we just talking about this?

From Twenty Nine Inches:

"I got some more concrete info on the new 29″ tires from NoTubes. The Crow’s original due date was this month, however it’s been pushed back indefinitely."

Okay, then.
More info on the Twenty Nine Inches site, plus some other related, adult sized business.

The Everlasting Experiment

It continues!
I'll let you know how this goes.
So far, so sweet.
Thanks for the ops, Nate.

Enough about me; what do you think about me?

Putting this out there is kind of like asking my family about a drawing I've done or a how I look in a suit.
"Great, honey. Just great."
But It's also an attempt to kick my own pants.
Over the course of the last five years I've written an almost monthly essay, or rant, or extended idea under one of two titles - Toner (for the magazine I used to work for) and Timbre (for the magazine I currently work on). Every single one of the pieces has something to do with skateboarding, but as many of you know, skateboarding can illuminate millions of other dimly lit subjects.
Anyway, I was thinking of trying to get the essays (there are like fifty of them) printed again in chapbook or paperback form. I might even have some friends who could do some illustrations.
They're not skull crushing or mind blowing by any stretch of the imagination, but they're readable. And I was thinking about incuding sort of liner notes or commentary on each one. Maybe. I guess I don't even know if that would work; it's been so long since I've read the first ones.
Huh?
Any thoughts?

The Fight Songs Will Be Amazing

Got this from Agent Larson: is an ass-kicking semi-pro slow pitch franchise in our bright future?

Poopship!

Looky what I got!
I was a little scared at first becasue it came in a plain brown envelope with an Omaha return address. No explanation, either. Was this the revenge of some disgruntled shirt tucker? Perhaps a three disc virus to pop my computer into oblivion?
Then Eric asked me, "Did you get those Ween discs from Mitch Kline?"
Oh sweet relief.

Thanks, Mitch. I'm ripping that bad boy right now. Awesome sound going down.

Both DVS (the beer garden) and Volcom (their whole set-up including their booths, polos tucked into khakis, sweaters tied around necks, and visors) were fully commited to the frat house theme. Somehow I don't think it was too much of a stretch.
