I read Franny and Zooey a few years ago and loved it. If it hasn't been made into a play it seemed like a great book to adapt. as I remember the entire book but one scene takes place in an apartment over the course of one day.

I got yelled at by a prof in at Purdue once because when he asked us to name the top ten US authors of all-time and I said Salinger. High drama. Thanks for link. There are a couple here I am missing.
