The line up

A minor trafic jam on the way to Cuba Night in Recife on our last night. The line was like an hour to get in, but we drank street beers, and had a good time. On the inside, thousands danced, ate, drank, and danced to an ass-kicking Calypso band. Epic ender.

How was the biking scene in Brazil?

c,
In the two small beach towns we were in, the "scene" amounted to a utilitarian one - as far as I could tell. But on the last day we were in Olinda, we visited a skatepark and it was in the middle of a crit course. It was hotter than I could stand (at least 100) and the dudes were racing in long-sleeved skin suits. Harsh. After the race, there were hundreds of people riding around and having fun - I was told they shut down the streets to cars in the canal/beach area on Sundays. So I guess the scene was healthy in the beach towns, just hidden due to the traffic and heat of the working week.
