So I'm rolling out this morning, after a long weekend of working my second job and working on a few other folks' bikes as well as my fleet in my basement; and I'm thinking, man, I haven't posted in a few weeks, I'll work something up over the course of the next hour on the ride to job #1.
Scratch that, 2 blocks from home, I've got my hands off the bars on my fixie crossie stretching out a bit when I begin to get pitched forward. First thought: "don't forget to keep pedaling jackass, you haven't ridden fixed in a month." Second thought: "This sucks." I get up and scope out the damage. It appears that I didn't pay enough attention when I was pumping my WTB Crosswolf up to a perhaps excessive 80psi. It blew off the rim and logged itself between the rim and brake pad. At least I didn't stop pedaling.
I haven't looked the bike over, but I'm sure I'm due for a wheel true and probably a new tire (just for my own well being). I walked back home where my beautiful wifepiece cleaned me up, I shot an email to the powers that be about my impending late-itude, and proceeded to lay down for another twenty minutes.
Let me tell ya'; it was a bit difficult to feel like facing the week, but here we go.
One of those days where it would have been nice to have the option to sit down at O'Rourke's w/ Hoffman behind the bar or Bricktop w/ CVO manning the booze fortress.
Time for a day two bounceback.
