Ah Nold

Forget the back pain.

This makes me want to take prescription drugs and grope women in night clubs.
Thanks, Governor, for straightening my crooked priorities.

... stolen from Sanger.

It's back

In true blog form, I'm going to whine about something miserable.
My back hurts again.
363 days to the date I hurt it "first," I've tweaked my back again for what amounts to the fifth time in twelve months.

EXPLETIVE!

My only comfort (so to speak) comes from knowing that each time it has hurt less and I've recovered a little quicker.
So, there you have it.
I'm offering this post up to the blog gods in hopes that in typing about my misery, they will look favorably upon this self-centered purge of my tortured soul (and lower spine) and answer my brayers (web + prayers) for a healthy back.

Amen.

oh sweet update.

Sorry for that last alarming post. I was saved by the Apple message boards! Whoduv thunk?!

Nothing will make you appreciate what you have until 1735 items suddenly dwindle down to 182, and then come back magically 20 minutes later. I will never be ungrateful AGAIN!

For even reading this far, you are being rewarded with this insane picture of Kyle Korver and a Chinese Ronald McDonald.

bad problem

If anyone can help me with the following gigantic problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

So I was importing a CD to my iTunes today when my computer froze. It has never froze before, and I didnt really have any other option but to shut down and restart. When I restart, I find nearly my entire iTunes library GONE. There is no recognizable pattern to the songs that were saved, but not many were. A notice popped up about iTunes not recognizing the file "iTunes library (damaged)". I'm freaking out. Can anyone help me out here?

Oh, sweet gravel

The wind was gnarly, but we traded pulls and got to the turn around just in time for a speedy return home. Good ride, boys.

Tiny People

Ayako cut loose tonight.

Round one ...

... of five.

wanna cyber?

Next week, two web artists will face-off in the wrestling ring to hack a web page live. The resulting changes will be seen by the public on a screen and by web-surfers on the net.

The artists will duel – using images, sounds, flash, HTML and javascript – for two hours assembling and disassembling the work and coding of their opponent. During each turn, the respective player will also play sound or music which will be heard live through at the venue and on the net in real-time. This music can be then remixed by their opponent.

The match

found this on enjoythemusic.com:

Blue Pearl's Jem ($82,000 including Graham arm) is a solid granite base and stand. The bearing is magnetic, and i asked what makes it so special. The company owner has wonderful humor as he said, "Well, it sounds reasonable."

Spring Backward

I take it back ...
Now that it's spring — newness all around, the birth of the warm months, and all that other crap — I think I'm begining to actually enjoy this terrible weather.
Went out, got a corpo coffee, said hi to the Monkey Boys, slid around, saw Cornbread on the way home, and only fell once.
Not bad.
Not good, either, but whatever.
Get out there for a second and pretend you're seven years old.

Main Vein

Another amazing skateboard documentary is on Fuel TV tonight at 7:30 pm and again at 10:30 pm.

Skate Na Veia! (Skateboarding In The Veins), directed by homie-for-life and Skateboard Mag staff photographer, Jon Humphries.

Some of you might remember Og de Souza from some Good Problem posts last year. Well, the Og segment in Skate Na Veia! was shot during our visit to Brazil in October.

Inspiring and amazing stuff.
Don't miss it.

Fear of a Wack Planet

I'm still going to the training races, I guess.
It's hard, though.

I had fun last week - both days. I looked forward to the races and it felt good to ride hard with friends.

This week ... I don't know. It's been hard to look forward to more of this.

My Vinyl Weighs a Ton

This is Getting Bigger and Better Every Month- I love it....I don't know if any of you enjoy a having good time, but if you think that might be the kind of thing you'd like to try doing then you should probably head down to Bricktop tomorrow night (say between 10pm and 1am) for some cheap drinks and some True School hip hop. I hear everyone's gonna be there. Oh, by the way..Rap music is cool again...and i got it all on wax.

Bob Gnar

Bob Burnquist is organic as fuck.

TeleStrat

About eight years ago, while working on a magazine out of Oceanside, a friend of mine introduced me to this guy Alex Perez. Alex's job was to build custom Fender guitars for the artists who played their guitars professionally. I think his title was Artist Relations Manager.
One of the coolest and mellowest dudes I've ever met, Alex invited us up to the Fender Custom Shop for a tour and it was a fricking eye opener. Must have been like it was in the early days, each guitar built slowly and deliberately by an actual human being — and one who just happened to love guitars more than anything.
When I left, Alex told me, "If you ever need anything, just call me."
It took me some time to get the courage up, but one day I called him and asked him to assemble a guitar for me.
"No problem. When can you come pick it up?" He asked without hesitation.
A couple days later, when I showed up this is what he'd put together —— a Strat with a Telecaster neck. Whaaaaaat?
Just got it out today and played it for a while and thought I'd show off / share this Wilkins family heirloom.
Pimpin' ain't easy.

Don't Jump The Hole

Steve called me and told me he was heading out to the full pipe. I said I couldn't. Then I changed my mind.

The snub nose was calling my name after watching Harvey Spannos last night.

There's another very cool skate film - a documentary (portions of which were filmed right here in Lincoln and Omaha!) called Freedom of Space - that's airing tonight on Fuel TV at 9:00pm and 12 midnight. That's channel 304, buddy. That doesn't leave you much time, I know.

Weak for you.

Super Sorry

I'm apologizing ahead of time for what you may see here over the next few weekends — that includes burning sage, various voodoo tactics, as well as the protypical bloggy reflections.

The apology will go to me too.

Sorry, me.

I'm jumping into these next few weekends of Lefler's training races and I'm scared. If nothing else, though, it'll be a good typing exercise.
But, yeah. You've been warned.
If you're not into checking out the typical diary-style, web-log self indulgence, you might want to steer clear of good problem for a while.
