Bocce Time!

With the summer coming or already here (depending on your location) for most that means cook outs and trips to the beach. Both occasions are the perfect time to play Bocce. The game of bocce entails throwing big balls in order to get closest to a smaller ball called the pallino. Traditionally the game is played on a crushed shell or gravel court, but most people play in the grass or on the beach. I like to play somewhere with trees and other obstacles that can add some interest and tactics to the game. According to the official rules, the pallino must be thrown past the center of the court. From time to time I like to drop the pallino close to where we throw from just to switch up the technique a little bit. The game is super fun, and just about anyone form kids to old folks can play, so head down to your local sporting goods store or Target and cop a bocce set for your next outing.

When I play Bocce at home we like to play around the house. We start in the front yard and the first team throws the pallino and then we go through a round (of bocce) and then the next round the 2nd team throws the pallino going the same way as the first throw from where the first throw landed and we proceed with this till we go all away around the house and the team with the most points wins. (And for the adult version you must have a drink in one hand the whole game. If you place your drink down during the game you lose a point evey time you put yor drink down)
