Stupidest Bike Lane in America?

so why is this the way it is? or is it enough for a "journalist" just to be snarky, point something obvious out and not relinquish any facts or do any actual investigating as to why what is, is?

could of been a high accident stretch of road ... could be they were waiting to paint the rest of it in conjunction with a repaving project at a later date ... i'm not defending it (it doesn't look very useful, and is obviously narrower than the AASHTO recommended width for high volume arterials) just saying that he didn't even try to get to the root of the issue.

there are a lot of things in this world that don't make much sense on the surface, and he didn't even try to find an explanation before deeming it, "stupid". i'm obviously not impressed.

What type of explanation would you need before agreeing that it is a stupid lane?

whatever the reason for it being so short, it should have a proper sign marking it's end for safety reasons.
