The United Plates of America

they, of course, recommend
that you drink kool-aid in
hastings, NE.

but, if you go to CO, you should head
to lyons for a dale's pale ale.
tough call.

beer thirty

New beers at Dario's, and the food is a lot better than leftover turkey. The cheese croquettes will change your life.

FOD = Friends Of Dave

Did we mention that we're friends with Dave Carnie? Well, it's like totally true. Please allow us to mention it again and again. You should be both jealous of us and proud of us at the same time.

Anyway, our close, personal friend Dave and his lovely wife Tania have a new food blog called Food On Drunk. It's as beautiful and as funny as if you had them both in your kitchen, eating and drinking with you.

As far as you know.

Bread and Cup Blog

Did you know that Bread & Cup had a blog?
Me either.

They also have soup, bread, and some really cool people making it all for you. And beer.

Did I mention the beer?

Stop by at noon on Saturday for Nebraska brews from Modern Monks and Empyrean as well as some German-inspired eats. As a bonus, Kevin will no doubt be concocting something with the goods he picks up at the Farmers' Market.

That all sounds pretty good to me.

High five to Beer of Kid.

The Potter's Meal

A clip from one of my first films.
I fell in love with this guy's ideas about art, food, gardening, family, sex, god, money, and how it's all connected.
I also really love the idea that eating is household performance art that happens everyday in the kitchen.
A good problem to Joe: eating out of styrofoam.
I remember him saying "Eating: something so sacred you just don't do it in styrofoam."
