Listen to Hall Of Fame songwriter Johnny Mandel's self-deprecating wax on writing the M*A*S*H* theme, "Suicide Is Painless," perfect pitch, and almost dropping his Oscar on Natalie Wood's foot.

So sad
A dream catcher that no one wants. I can't think of anything sadder. That's like saying, ..., I'm actually not sure what that's saying...

beer:30

my good buddy -mk- likes to ride mountain bicycles and take really neat photographs, he also appreciates a handcrafted beer. he is a full fledged beer snob in the beer wonderland of colorado. when we discuss new beer, he likes to ask "desert island?" basically, asking if it makes the top five list? well, i turned the tables on -mk- this week and got his desert island picks. they've probably changed over the last 24 hours, but it's a nice list anyway.

mr furious records

My brother-in-law Cory and his gb Howie have this FREE music site call MR FURIOUS RECORDS that has a ton (32) of free albums from a bunch of former and current Lincoln bands along with a bunch of other stuff from all over the country... there are some gems in here including the ep Calla Lily from The Golden Age and Double Live Platinum from Drive By Honky (now Ideal Cleaners)... Dig around you'll be pleased (might try on The Sleepover or Robot Creep Closer or Pat Bradley or even some crazy piano opera stuff from Katherine Lindhart). But you should seriously give Calla Lily and Double Live Platinum a listen.

I am a huge fan of the recent oak aged beer boom, it seems like every craft brewer from Delaware to Santa Rosa has their version of barrel made goodness. Tonight, in Lincoln, we get a taste of the Espresso Oak Aged Yeti from Great Divide. The keg is tapped at 5.
