Nikon State Of Mind
My buddy Josh won the audience award in this Nikon film contest. The whole idea kinda reminds me of Rob's My Weeks.

Boot to the head
I sure enjoy these boots. They sit idle most of the year but they make my feet happy the rest. Even tho they are built for carrying 90 pounds from here to infinity, they are still comfy, in a heavy f-ing boot sort of way. Thanks Butch.

Other Parts

While some other parts of the internets aren't working so hot, I wanted to remind you about something I think.
Here it is:
I STILL think that this Nedroid stuff is some of the best stuff I've seen, having looked at and seen a lot of stuff.
I also think that you'll agree with me.
Man, you're the best.

American Food

I have a friend visiting from Italy for a few days and I have been telling him for weeks that we would eat almost exclusively American food while he is here. He love's to eat as much as i do and will try anything. My visits with him in his home country have always proven to be eye opening to me when it comes to trying new foods so I hope I can return the favor to him. So I have put together a little list of foods I feel are uniquely American. Here it goes.
Spaghetti... just kidding
Fried Chicken, Prime Rib, Honey Glazed Ham
Halibut, Alaskan Salmon, Dungeness Crab
Chicken Strips, Peanut butter & Jelly, Corn Dogs
Nacho Cheese, Tater Tots, Onion Rings
BBQ Ribs, Philly Sandwich, Wings
Caeser Salad,Fingerling potatoes, Broccolini
Chocolate Chip Cookies, Apple Pie
I know there is sooo much more American food I am missing, but just looking at this list kind of makes me want to have a heart attack as it is. So if you think i'm missing something he just HAS to try, please let me know. I will do my best to include it.

Take Five
Had that xc ski day that everyone told me was going to happen soon. Great snow, proper kick stick, just-right layers, a good group of good guys, and three dogs.
Got in the Caravan when we finished and heard this song — this exact recording, actually. It'll probably turn out to be one of those times I associate forever with a piece of music, so I'm happy it's this good.
Thanks, Kris, Matt, Matt, and Butch. That was one of the times I've had.

Freewheelin'
Okay. My mind's officially blown by this guy's stuff. I clicked through to see more of Wolf Ruck's work (The man behind This Is Cross-Country! below this post) and found this two parter on off-road cycling: Freewheelin' (Circa '85) Holy crap.
Keep your eyes peeled for some pioneer-era set-ups, some drop bars, some possible Cunninghams, some Type IIs, some WTB, some bull moose bars, OG Specialized Ned footy, bearded dudes on OG Ross stuff, some possible early Slickrock trials, some Vaurnet's, some mustachios, a dude getting trials radical on an old GT cruiser with a bash guard, an early purveyor of bibs over jersey, beachy bench trials, what might be the first use ever of the messenger-in-traffic fliming angle, and more five-pound helmets than you can shake a stick at.
Enjoy both parts.
Part 2.

This Is Cross-Country!
While struggling with technique these last few days, I started looking around for some visual examples and tips for cross country skiing and found this sweet-ish three parter: This Is Cross-Country! has all kinds of inspired film work, foley work, music, unapologetic 70s everything, and Sesame Street amazingness. The FobFather suggested I post for the enjoyment of all, and his wish is my command:
Enjoy all three parts.
